Spirit Syringe Filters

Spirit Syringe Filters are used for the filtration of liquid samples that contain impurities in the form of suspension or solution. Spirit Syringe Filters are made from high quality materials with very low levels of extractables. The housing material is high quality polypropylene, chemically resistant to a wide range of solutes and solvents. Spirit Syringe Filters are constructed so that the sample must pass through the membrane, not leak around it. AAPPTec's quality control guarantees that Spirit Syringe Filters will provide excellent results.

Spirit Syringe Filters are easy to use. They may be used with any Luer-lock syringe and are color-coded for easy recognition. The 25mm syringe filters can filter up to 100 mL of sample with a retention volume of less than 100 uL. The 13mm filters can filter 5 to 10 mL of sample and have a retention volume of only 28 uL.

Spirit Syringe Filters are non-sterile.

AAPPTec offers a wide range of syringe filters with a 1 μm presize Glass Microfiber (GMB) membrane as a pre-filter. The glass pre-filter is mounted upstream from the microporous filter membrane in order to eliminate the need of a pre-filtration step, minimize sample loss, prolong lifetime of the membrane and increase the flow rate. These filters are ideal for general filtration of samples containing an excessive amount of particulates.

Protect your instruments and columns by using our Spirit Membranes for mobile phase and sample filtrations. Available as Nylon-66, PVDF, M.E. Cellulose (Yellow) and PTFE membrane filters.

  • Nylon-66: Hydrophilic, low extractables, resistant to a wide range of organic and aqueous solvents. Very high protein binding, not resistant to acids and aggressive halogenated solvents.
  • PVDF: Hydrophilic, low extractables, resistant to a wide range of organic and aqueous solvents. Low protein binding, not resistant to strong acids, bases and ketones.
  • M.E. Cellulose (Yellow): Hydrophilic, low protein retention, high filter capacity and high flow throughput, ideal for the filtration of aqueous mobile phases.
  • PTFE: Hydrophobic, very low protein binding and extractables, resistant to most organics, strong acids and bases, excellent thermal stability, ideal for filtration and degassing of solvents, ideal for organic solvents.
